My desk is stacked high with health books, and I love sorting through them to look for trends. I noticed several about nutrition for women during specifc phases of their lives, so I thought I’d compile the highlights into one big “lifetime guide.”


This review of healthy chocolate products was a blast to put together, though the offerings were wildly hit and miss. My favorite discovery was Sunsweet dark-chocolate-covered prunes (which are undergoing a massive and probably wise rebranding as “dried plums”). One of those “what fun this job is!” kind of stories, for sure.



I’m an unabashed fan of Michelle Obama and happily credited her with the trendiness of at-home gardening for this Community Health feature. But really, it’s no surprise this economically and environmentally friendly hobby is thriving.
